Overview
The Proteus Handylift is a hydraulic manhole and access cover lifter designed to lift, move and replace heavy covers safely by a single operator. A hand-operated hydraulic pump and ram raise the cover smoothly, and the wheeled frame lets you roll the cover clear of the opening and park it on a firm surface, with controlled lowering via the pump release screw.
The lifter has a stainless steel main beam with two sliding hook boxes, two wheel assemblies and a jockey wheel, and is rated for a safe working load of 1500 kg. Used with the appropriate keys, spreader bars or swivel-ring locker spreaders, it handles single-piece covers with two or four keyholes, split covers and Elkington Gatic-type covers. For transport and storage, the beam slides out of the centre box so the lifter splits into two sections. Ideal for utilities, telecom, drainage, municipal and facilities maintenance teams.
