The Mitutoyo outside micrometers series 103 features either a ratchet stop or friction thimble that applies constant measuring force on a workpiece for exact repetitive readings. The Mitutoyo 103-178 is the 1–2 inch model with .001 inch graduation and ±.0001 inch accuracy, ideal for measuring metal and non-metal workpieces in workshops, quality control labs and maintenance departments that work in imperial units.
